Who we are now
For 28 years, the Leask family of Asta have managed Asta Golf Course and still run it today with founder Jim Leask's son Michael the Greenskeeper and Jim's youngest Granddaughter Terresa and her partner Stuart working alongside Michael to make sure Asta Golf Course continues to be a pleasurable, relaxing course for all ages and abilities to enjoy.
Michael can be seen doing the greens-keeping for the course and his daughter Terresa along with her partner Stuart- the third generation of Asta Golf Course assists in the day to day running of the course.
While Michael, Terresa and Stuart run the course, Asta Golf Course is still very much a family business with two of founder Jim Leask's daughters, running the fortnightly music nights, Jim's son in law running monthly fellowship gatherings and another of Jim's daughters running the winter quiz's held in the clubhouse.
During the Summer months, our cheerful bar maid Marie is there serving drams and if you happen to be there at opening or closing times, you might run into Jim's Grandaughter in-law who takes care of our clubhouse.
Asta Golf Course has never received any external funding and the continued future is entirely dependant on the dedication of all the people who make it what it is today, the visitors, the members, the staff and the family.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you. Asta Golf Course continues to be a relaxing, peaceful Golf Course due to the people who are part of it.
How it all started..
It all begins with an idea and a dream.
Michael Leask stands here with the first ball hit at Asta Golf Course and is proud carry the dream on for the future generations. Check out our history and read how Jim Leask spent his childhood and working life on Asta and decided to design and build the Golf course as a retirement project.
Turning a dream into a reality, Jim opened Asta Golf Course on 18th July 1992.
